City Polytechnic High School (City Poly) was founded in Year Opened: 2009
September, 2009, as one of four State-approved career and
technical education (CTE) demonstration sites, opened by 2014-15 Enrollment: 447

January, 2010, and has been a part of the fabric of the high White – 3.6%
school since then. As the high school grew by a new class No Data – 2.4%
of students each year, Smart Scholars funding has
supported each cohort of students as they move through Percentage Free/Reduced Price Lunch
their high school classes, into cohort courses at City Tech, (FRPL): 73.2%
and finally into full-time enrollment at City Tech, over the
course of the school’s five-year program. Smart Scholars Average Number of College Credits

City Poly was the first high school in New York City to be Year 4 - 7
both an ECHS and a CTE high school. In the spring of 2013, Year 5 - 24
City Poly, with tremendous support from City Tech, was able
to have its CTE program formally approved by the State Average number of college credits
Education Department. earned by Graduates who entered
City Poly in 2009: 23.8
In 2014, The New York City School District was awarded a
New York State Pathways in Technology (NYS P-TECH) Graduation Rate for students who
grant to convert City Poly into a P-TECH school. The entered City Poly in 2009: 87.1%
conversion to a six-year, NYS P-TECH school will begin with
