Highlights of the ECHS and P-Tech Programs at ITC

Current ECHS seniors have given some feedback about their experiences this year. Highlights
include:

 Earning credits prior to being in a full time college setting helps set students apart from
their peers when applying to college

 Students are given an opportunity to gain firsthand experience in a college setting
 Students are exposed to other students from diverse backgrounds including geographic,

age and life experience
 Students are given the opportunity to have a college experience while still retaining the

support of high school staff in a high school environment
 Many students earn nearly an entire year of college credits prior to enrolling in college
 Internships have helped students gain an understanding of expectations and norms in

the professional world
 Immersion in campus setting; most peers and professors do not even realize students

are in high school

We have our first cohort of students beginning a P-Tech program this year. Highlights include:
 P-Tech students will have the choice of specializing in either mechanical or electrical
engineering
 Students will be given the opportunity to begin college coursework during their
sophomore year
 Full immersion on college campus during their senior year of high school
 Summer and school year internships available for students enrolled in program
 All students are given access to mentors from our local business partners
