Rochester Early College International High School Year Opened: 2010
(RECIHS) opened in September of 2010. Monroe
Community College (MCC) is our main partner and all 2014-15 Enrollment: 348
scholars take college credit through MCC. Our first
graduating class took place in June 2014 with a 71% Male/Female Ratio: 129:219
graduation rate.
Enrollment by Race/Ethnicity:
In order to enroll at RECIHS an 8th grade student and parent African American: 68.3%
must come to one of our informational sessions and sign a Hispanic – 16.4%
School Compact. This compact shares the expectations for Asian/Pacific Islander – 6.3%
all constituents, parents, students and staff and sets the White – 9%
groundwork for our expectations. Our goal is to accept
between 75-100 students each year. Percentage Free/Reduced Price Lunch
(FRPL): 76%
Our English Language Learners represent 10% of our
student body and students with Individualized Educational Average Number of College Credits
Plans (IEP) represent 12%. We have specialized services in Earned by Grade Level:
a self-contained setting for students with autism as well as 9th Grade – 4
Consultant, Resource and Integrated options for students 10th Grade - 7
with IEP’s. RECIHS is also a recipient of a Smart Scholars 11th Grade – 9
Cohort 2 grant, part of which helps to support activities for 12th Grade - 12
our ELL students.
Average number of college credits
Students are expected to take a college technology and earned by 2014 Graduates: 16
college art course their first two years to swiftly immerse
them in the college culture at RECIHS. After these initial 2014 Graduation Rate: 71%
courses, they move into core academic courses and courses
of interest. Students have the choice of dual credit courses Summer Program Offerings:
at RECIHS or to travel to one of MCC’s two main campuses College Courses at MCC
to enroll in classes. Summer Bridge for Incoming Freshman
HS Credit accrual and retrieval
Each scholar is expected to graduate with a high school
diploma and a minimum of 24 college credits. We believe Contact Information:
