Q1. If you considered joining other golf clubs before deciding on Gorge Vale, which ones did you
                consider?
                Uplands - 14, Royal Colwood – 11, Victoria – 8, Cordova Bay- 7, Olympic View – 6, Highland
                Pacific - 4 Cedar Hill – 1, Bear Mountain - 1

                • The best life decision I've made in years was to join GVGC in 2018. I've lost weight, met a new
circle of friends and actually improved my golf game.
                • Having membership work parties could help tackle maintenance the grounds crew just don't
have time for. like all the downed trees last year. I would have been happy to show up with my
chainsaw to help deal with them ...and sign a waiver if needed to protect the club. The gun
range I'm a member of hosts work parties regularly. For special projects, you may also find
membership can donate services, materials or heavily subsidize maintenance efforts thru their
                    businesses.
                • Friendliness of pro shop staff can be questionable at times.
                • Terrific experience so far. Staff have been helpful and professional. They are a key factor to my
                    enjoyment so far
                • Absolutely love the club, course, and employees. Extremely happy with what I have been able
to get out of the club.
                • I am retired, but busy renovating a house, and traveling. Still evaluating my existence to
determine if full time membership is in the cards. The only negative thing that I can add as a
newcomer is that the course could use more hole signage to navigate green to next tee in a few
                    locations. The course is great!
                • If the course is to be more open to the public, I would suggest identifying tee time trends during
which there are often open slots and offering those up to the public at a slightly reduced rate. 5
or 10 round punch cards may attract some players as well. Summer evening nine holes
combined with a F/B discount or a burger/beverage special may also attract some business that
would benefit all aspects of the course.
                • For the Location question, there wasn't a selection for “not close to work or home”. Also, no
question as to whether I will continue my membership.
                • VERY impressed by the outreach from the ladies’ group. I felt very welcome!
                • I feel like the initiation is a bit of a money grab and an aspect of the club that could be reviewed
and eliminated. It's hard enough to get people to join. The club is NOT elite, and I think this
aspect is a hindrance to young people considering joining.
                • I would be very willing to further discuss what I find lacking or great at GV.
                • I think the same as many golf courses: keeping up with younger generations while maintaining
the values of golf is always a struggle, especially as it relates to everything outside of the actual
game (new members, dress code, social events, food and beverage, etc.).
                • Gorge is awesome!
