– Gospels (awetaran) in different sizes and
forms: Altar Gospel (ateni), Compline Gospel
(hangstean), Temple Gospel (tačari), Healing
Gospel (pžškut‘ean), Crucifixion Gospel (xa-
č‘elut‘ean), Myrophores Gospel (iwłaberic‘),
and Midday Gospel (čašu).
– Hagiography or Synaxary (yaysmawurk‘)
includes the calendar of feasts and the lives
and martyrdom of saints and martyrs.
– Holy Week (awag šabat‘) contains the
services of the Holy Week.
– Book of Songs (ganjaran) includes those
songs, melodies, and hymns that are not
incorporated in the hymnal.
– Book of Odes (tałaran) comprises odes,
canticles, and chants.
– Liturgical Calendar (grpani ōrac‘oyc‘)
provides information about the daily hours,
feasts, and saints.
– Hymnal (šaraknoc‘) contains more than
1800 hymns dedicated to saints and feasts.
There are two types of hymnals: the Major
Hymnal (jaynak‘ał) and the Concise Hymnal
(jer˙ac‘).
– Book of Hours (žamagirk‘) comprises
the seven daily hours. There are four types
and sizes of the book of hours: altar (ateni),
condensed (daseru), smaller (ar˙jer˙n), and for
children (p‘ok‘reru).
