Soror Allene McGuire
Soror Allene McGuire would like to see another chapter that will help
sorors to share their time and talents locally. She also believes
another chapter would be beneficial in helping sorors to be more
productive.
Her personal contributions include: musician, composer, and
dazzling personality.
Soror Jarita Mitchell
Jarita A. Mitchell, Ed.D., holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from
the University of TN at Chattanooga and was initiated into the Zeta
Kappa Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated® March 31,
1996. She holds both her Master of Science in Leadership and Doctorate
of Education in Reading from the University of Memphis, and her
administrative certification from Bethel University. Jarita has been an
educator for 19 years and is currently an Instructional Support Advisor
for Literacy with Shelby County Schools. She is a 2013 graduate of the
Emerging Leaders Program through Memphis City Schools, a 2013
participant of the Harvard Graduate School of Education Principal’s
Leadership Institute, and a 2015 participant of Shelby County Schools
Leadership Institute. Jarita holds certifications and licenses in Special
Teacher Reading, Elementary Education, Professional Administrator,
and Superintendent.
