II. Event Management
While the successes of these changes were evident in the 2017 season, it is evident that a much
larger organizing committee is needed for the implementation of this highly spirited holiday
program. As the head elves have demonstrated the skill, craft, and dedication required of the
best of Santa’s helpers, it is now necessary to grow the support network of MDHN. For the
2018 season, the Events Department is now anticipated to join the MDHN organizing
committee. The added manpower and support will allow the following to ensure the highest
customer satisfaction at all MDHN venues, activities and events.

                       • Event training for each specific duty i.e. ice garden supervisors, sleigh ride coordinator’s
evening performance ushers, Santa’s elves, reindeer game coordinators
                       • A consistent team from Ticket Office to work the door at all ticketed events accompanied
by a full staff Merry Days and Holly Nights Organizing Committee working the “will call”
                       • Two MDHN organizing committee members inside OVL room supervising seating, bar
                        and food service
                       • Staff members working a MDHN event will have a designated uniform to help guests
identify people in charge of a particular event to assist with answering questions and giving
                        directions
                       • Address the feedback from Marketing survey, “desiring more hospitality”

By having a broadened organizing committee consist of core SVAM employees, it will help
ignite the MDHN spirit within the entire staff, the ultimate means of promotion and support for
                     this unique holiday celebration.
