Unit Overview
In this unit, students will use the numbers from 0 to 10 and split them into two
numbers or gather them into one number. These activities will help students
understand the basics of addition and subtraction and help them understand
the mutual relationship between numbers and number senses.
An effective method to give students experience in working with the principle
of splitting and gathering is to have them use blocks, rocks, other
manipulative, and games.
