Why Do We Need to Teach Numbers One to Five?
Numbers one to five are basic numbers. Although people may not have had numeral numbers a long time
ago, they could count using their body parts. People have five fingers, so they would have been able to
count up to five using one hand.
Students will have encountered numbers up to five many times in their lives. It is important for them to get
familiar with these numbers. It is also important for them to learn other related math concepts; about
numbers that are one bigger or smaller and comparing two numbers.
