5 PLUMBING
5.1 CODES
Plumbing system shall comply with the requirements of the 2014 New York City Plumbing Code.
5.2 DESIGN CONDITIONS
5.2.1 DOMESTIC WATER SYSTEM
PRESSURE:
Maximum 85 PSI at Fixture
Minimum 30 PSI at Fixture
Velocity: Less than 6 feet per second
HOT WATER SUPPLY TEMPERATURE:
Public Lavatory Tempered water
Sizing: In accordance with ASPE guidelines

5.3 DESCRIPTION OF SYSTEMS
5.3.1 DOMESTIC WATER SYSTEM
One 6” Domestic Water Service shall be extended from 14 Street Water main into the building Water Meter Room located at the

Cellar level, each retail space and each tenant will be sub metered. The service shall be metered and a double check back flow
prevention device shall be installed. One dedicated 6” Fire services will be provided from the 14 Street Water main water main

into the water meter room located at the Cellar, service will have a double check back flow prevention device.
The 22,500 Gallons Fire reserve suction tank will be provided for fire protection system.
The Triplex booster pump will be installed on the Cellar floor to supply domestic water.
The building water system consists of three pressure zones using a triplex booster pumps, PRV stations and street pressure.
Domestic water will be distributed throughout the building to supply each plumbing fixture.
2” domestic cold water capped outlet with sub-meter will be provided for each retail space and tenants on each floor, assuming one
tenant per floor.
Local storage electric water heaters shall be provided in each bathroom to serve the lavatories and a separate 20 gallon electric
storage type water heater for Janitor mop will be used.
The entire system of cold water, hot water, and hot water circulation, piping systems shall be fully insulated and jacketed.
