5. Upon loss of utility power the emergency system loads will be transferred to the generator in a sequential manner.
4.3.3 WIRING DEVICES
6. Ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) receptacles will be provided for bathrooms and outdoor areas.
7. Window washing receptacles will be 208V, 3 phase, 4 wire, 30 amp, weatherproof type with GFCI protection.
8. Switches and receptacles in public and base building areas will be specification grade, decorate style. All switches shall be AC
silent acting, fully rated at 20 amperes.
4.3.4 POWER CONNECTIONS
1. Power and control wiring will be provided for all motors and related controllers.
2. Elevator power wiring will be provided up to the motor disconnect switch in the machine room for each elevator.
4.3.5 FIRE ALARM SYSTEM
2. The Fire Alarm and Life Safety System will be an addressable multiplex microprocessor based system independent of Building
Management System (BMS), complete with central processor equipment, sensors, devices, data gathering transmission panels,
console, conduit and wiring etc.
3. Fire alarm system will comply with NYC requirements for High Rise “B” buildings, NFPA requirements and as directed by the
local Fire Department officials.
4. The system will be non-coded, zoned, electrically supervised, Class ‘A’ backbone riser wiring, Class ‘B’ circuits, including, but
not limited to the following:
a. The fire detection and alarm system will be complete with manual pull stations, ceiling-mounted smoke detectors where
required, duct mounted smoke detectors, heat detectors and speaker/strobe devices.
b. Sprinkler system water flow detection and valve position tamper switches.
c. Provisions for automatic control of air handing systems under fire conditions.
d. Provisions for automatic control of elevators under fire conditions.
5. The fire alarm system will contain spare capacity for connection of tenant fire alarm devices.
4.3.6 LIGHTING
1. LED lighting will be provided in all back of house spaces to include mechanical and utility rooms, equipment rooms and storage
areas. Lighting in public areas of the project, including lobbies, will be further described in the Lighting chapter. Lighting will
be designed using the guidelines of the Illuminating Engineering Society and will meet the requirements of 2016 NYCECC.
2. Occupancy sensors will be provided in all bathrooms, storage rooms, stairwells, lobbies and other back of house spaces.
3. Daylight sensors will be provided in all daylight areas.
