MAIN TELECOM ROOM (BASEMENT)
1. A VRF fan coil unit will be provided in the main telecom room.
ELECTRICAL CLOSETS
1. A local transfer fan will be provided in each local floor electrical closet where transformers are present.
MAIN ELECTRICAL SWITCHGEAR ROOM (BASEMENT AND ROOF BULKHEAD)
1. VRF fan coil units will be provided in the normal and emergency electrical switchgear rooms.
BASEMENT ROOMS
1. All back of house areas will be provided with ventilation air from local ventilation VRF fan coil units.
2. In addition to the ventilation air as described above, all occupied spaces will be provided with VRF fan coil units for comfort
cooling and heating.
3. All cellar MEP spaces will be ventilated only using supply and exhaust air fans.
FUEL OIL SYSTEM
1. A fuel oil system will be provided to deliver diesel fuel to the emergency generator.
2. The storage tank, fuel oil pumps and other associated components will be located on the basement level.
3. One NYC-construction fuel oil storage tank will be provided with the capacity of 3,000 gallons, which is sufficient for a 24-hour
continuous operation of the emergency generator.
4. The fuel oil pumps will deliver fuel from the tanks to the generator located on the roof via a fuel oil riser located in the core of
the building.
5. The vertical F.O. supply and overflow pipes will be enclosed in a 4” thick masonry enclosure. All horizontal offsets will be
provided with a welded leak containment enclosure and fire rated.
STAIR PRESSURIZATION
1. The stair pressurization fan system consists of an air outlet, a volume damper, a supply fan (6,000 CFM) and duct work.
2. Each stair will be pressurized in the event of a smoke/ fire emergency.
ELEVATOR MACHINE ROOM COOLING
1. One dedicated split system unit will be provided for each passenger elevator machine room.
ELEVATOR HOISTWAY VENTING
1. Each elevator hoistway will be provided with smoke vents sized based on the greater of 3.5% of the hoistway shaft area or 3 s.f.
2. Each hoistway smoke vent will be provided with smoke dampers interlocked with the smoke detector located at the top of the
hoistway. The smoke dampers will be arranged in a 1/3-2/3 configuration.
KITCHEN EXHAUST SYSTEM
1. Provisions will be made for one (1) 10,000 CFM, 20 HP, variable speed kitchen exhaust fan and riser to serve the type 1 and type
2 hoods in the food hall on the 1 floor.

2. For the purposes of this report, it is assumed that the kitchen exhaust hoods will be provided with integral grease and odor
removal systems.
