The design philosophy of the converged network embraces the emerging concept of the Internet of Things, where the conventional
view of siloed building systems data is expanded to include feedback, information, and control from a wide spectrum of connected
devices, ranging from stationary work stations to users’ personal mobile devices.
Leveraging this level of information exchange, the following myriad of systems can begin to function as a smarter, more
interconnected and in synergistic ways as a connected Integrated Automation platform:
1. HVAC
2. Lighting
3. Energy sub-metering
4. Common Data Bases
5. Security
6. Asset Management
7. Digital Way finding
8. Acoustics
9. Maintenance and Fault Detection
10. Dashboards / Information / Reporting
WSP is engaged with the Owner in the development of a SMART Building Visioning Map which will identify key strategies and
systems to be incorporated into the Integrated Automation platform. This scope will be resolved as soon as possible during early
DD phase. The IA platform will create a connected building that gathers data from the space and provides an integrated control of
all building systems to achieve greater functionality. Outcomes of this engagement will drive the design of the IA platform,
converged network design, and all other systems impacted. At a high level, all systems connecting to the IA platform shall be
capable of reading and writing data to and from the platform itself utilizing BACnetIP.
