• Lighting levels shall be a minimum 50-foot candles maintained at 36 inches above finished floor in front and behind of
each equipment rack. The room shall be fitted with occupancy sensor to shut off lights when the room is not occupied.
Lights shall be pendant type and must be closely coordinated with the cable tray layout so that light is present in front and
               behind equipment racks.

        8.10.2 MECHANICAL REQUIREMENTS
            • Water pipes, duct work, and any other mechanical equipment not directly associated with the operation of the IT
Infrastructure space must NOT pass through the rooms associated with the IT Infrastructure.

            • The recommended environmental limits for the Telecommunications Rooms are 64-80° Fahrenheit and 30 - 55% relative
humidity, non-condensing. The recommended temperature set point is 75° F.

            • The HVAC system shall be dedicated to the space and available 24/7.
            • It is preferred that the units for the MTER room be located outside the room and ducted into the room. If the units must be
located inside the room it must be closely coordinated with the cable tray layout so that it remains accessible for
maintenance. At no time shall piping to/from the units pass over the equipment racks. Units must have drips pain
complete with water sensors and condensate pumps.

            • Mechanical equipment serving the space shall be connected to emergency power.
            • Telecommunications Rooms shall be equipped with high temperature alarms that report to the BMS.
            • Positive pressure shall be maintained within the room, with a minimum of one air change per hour.

        8.10.3 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

            • Power circuits for all telecommunications equipment located within the room (MTER room only, not applicable to IDF or
Poe Rooms) shall be fed from an electrical panel dedicated to these loads and located within the MTER room. Electrical
panels for Telecommunications equipment shall be provided with a dedicated ground connection to support the
Telecommunications grounding system within this room.

            • In addition to outlets for the information technology equipment, electrical convenience outlets (120VAC, 20A, duplex)
shall be provided at approximately 6-foot intervals around the perimeter walls of the room. A maximum of four duplex
outlets shall be fed from a single circuit. All branch circuiting shall include a ground wire from the distribution panel's
ground bus bar to all electrical outlets in the room. These outlets may be used for testing equipment and power tools only,
               and not for telecommunications equipment.

            • It is strongly recommended that all telecommunications spaces (MTER & TRs) branch panels be on generator backup
               power.

        8.10.4 GROUNDING REQUIREMENTS

The SCS cabling system must be provided with a reference signal grounding system, provided in accordance with the ANSI/TIA
Joint Standard 607B, EN 50310 Bonding and Earthing standard or local codes and standards documents. This system is an important
component of the telecommunications infrastructure, maintaining ground continuity over the entire transmission network
throughout the building. The following guidelines are provided for the design of the system:
            • A telecommunications primary bonding busbar (PBB) shall be located in the Telecommunications Service Entrance Room
(TSER). The PBB shall be bonded to the master grounding busbar (MGB) at the electrical service entrance facility.
            • A telecommunications secondary bonding busbar (SBB) shall be located in each TR and MTER.
            • A telecommunications bonding backbone (TBB) cable shall be run from the PBB through the telecommunications
backbone risers, connecting the SBB in each TR to the grounding backbone.

            • A grounding equalizer (GE) conductor shall be installed from each PBB and / or SBB, linking all technology rooms on the
lowest floor, the highest and a minimum of every 3rd floor.
