• A door release button is to activate an electric door-locking device allows remote entry into the building with the system.
An active intercom allows for alarm activation and any associated live camera to see who has activated the intercom. This
also, allows any video recorded through the IP Surveillance NVR system to be associated with the alarm input and displays
at the monitoring location for review, anytime the intercom system is activated.
9.6 UPS
Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) cabinet mounted.
The UPS designed to support ALL Security field devices including, but not limited to:
• IP-CCTV cameras
• Access Control system
• IP-CCTV Head-end equipment (e. g. NVRs, servers, switches, etc)
• Monitors
• PC’s and controllers
• Lights
• A/C
• Intrusion detection system
• Support all sub-systems
The UPS will support all Security operations in the event commercial power is lost. The UPS(s) mounted in its own cabinets located
in the rooms where the power supplies, panels and head-end equipment, monitors etc., are mounted or centrally located and wired
to locations as needed to support the systems. Every UPS shall be supplied with Generator Power to ensure operations continuity
during extended power outages.
Each UPS will serve as the power source to the power supplies for field devices located near the associated closet.
9.7 SECURITY EQUIPMENT ROOM
The security equipment room shall house all security head-end active electronic equipment for the security system and will
likely reside within the SOC. In the event of a requirement for a standalone SER, the space shall designed in accordance with
the following criteria:
Security Equipment Room (SER)
Location A secure non-public space away from exterior walls,
adjacent to security command center
SER size Not less than 150 square feetrectangular when
combined with IT
Construction Standard 1-hour rated slab-to-slab sheetrock.
SER Lighting 500 lux measured at 36” AFF.
Ceilings SC None required
Flooring VCT electrostatic resistive material.
