The Business Confidence Index fell from 48.8 index points in March 2015 to 35.8 index
points in March 2016. This fall was mainly due to declines in the manufacturing and
building business confidence indices.
Figure 10 below summarise the trends in these sectors between December 2013 and
March 2016.

The Wholesale and Retail sectors performed marginally better, with the former recording
50 index points in the month of March 2016.
