- U.S. Colleges and universities have changed the type of jobs they offer.
- Teresa Politano has taught media studies part-time at Rutgers University in
New Jersey since 1999. Politano says the university has never offered her a

1.5) Did the article answer the questions you asked at the beginning?
Yes, the article answer most of the questions I´ve asked at the beginning.
1.6) What is your opinion about the article?
In Mexico, at least in the UNAM, subject teachers are very poorly paid. They
must have several jobs, teach several subjects in different schools. 70% of the
UNAM's professors are part-time teachers and only give few classes, because
the statute of the academic staff forbids that they give more than 18 hours.
I was surprised that was the case at national level in the United States. But it
seems to be a very widespread issue in several countries.
2.5 Fifth Text: The Impact and Reach of MOOCs: A developing countries’
perspective.
1) Read the summary of the two documents found on the platform. In a Word
document, write your answers to the following questions:
1.1) Which of the two would you be interested in Reading? Why?
I would be interested in “The Impact and Reach of MOOCs: A developing
countries’ perspective”, because, apparently it takes a closer look to the ability
of learners from most developing countries and the reasons MOOCs would
not be a viable solution for education for a large proportion of people in these
areas of the world.
