                  Intentional Inclusion & Diversity (II&D)

                Valuing Differences
Today, the organizations with the greatest competitive advantage are those that create an inclusive
environment that makes the most of their people’s diverse experiences, ideas, and talents.

Valuing Differences gives people effective skills and tools for exploring others’ unique perspectives,
understanding and leveraging people’s inherent differences, challenging devaluing behavior, and creating an
environment in which people’s differences are respected and utilized.

               Helps staff:
 Contribute their unique styles, abilities, and motivations to ensure the success of their work group
and organization and encourage others to contribute their unique styles, abilities, and motivations.
 Work more collaboratively and productively with people who have a variety of styles, abilities, and
                       motivations.
 Contribute to a climate in which people’s differences are respected and utilized.

                Unconscious Bias
Unconscious bias is a quick and often inaccurate judgment based on limited facts and our own life
experiences. People can be biased about just about anything—not just things like gender, skin color, or age,
but also things like communication style or what someone does in their free time. Unconscious bias is not
intentional—it's part of the lens through which we see the world.

               Helps leaders and staff:
 Gain a deeper understanding of unconscious biases
 Understand how biases influence behavior
 Learn numerous action to help counter bias when it occurs

                 Recruitment, Retention, Onboarding

 Strong Start for New Leaders
Organizations are becoming increasingly aware of the tremendous investment required to get new hires up-
to-speed. In addition to the initial cost of hiring, there are the opportunity costs incurred during the ramp-up
period, when new hires are comparably less productive than their more experienced counterparts.

The Strong Start® program assists leaders in speeding their new hires’ onboarding and time-to-productivity
with a simple, step-by-step process. Leaders acquire the engagement skills necessary for quickly transitioning
new employees into roles and assimilating them into the corporate culture.

               Helps organizations:
 Reduce costs by shortening the new employee ramp-up period.
 Increase retention and minimize the likelihood of new-employee job dissatisfaction.
 Develop the skills leaders need to promote new-hire engagement and commitment to the job.
