Chapter 7  BIOS Re-flash & Power Off



                   7.1  Error BIOS Dump


                   BIOS (Basic Input Output System) are the software embedded on a chip located on the
                   computer’s main board. The BIOS executes POST to test and initialize the system
                   components and then loads (boots) the O/S. The BIOS also handles the low-level
                   input/output to the various peripheral devices connected to the computer. Without
                   correct BIOS data, the main board is unable to boot up. The BIOS data error repairing is

                   no component replacement required, just need to re-flash the data. For this reason
                   GIGABYTE invent Dual BIOS function to reduce the RMA return and improve the
                   quality. Furthermore, for reducing the BIOS data error, we collect the error BIOS data

                   for analysis.

                   Operation Steps of BIOS Dump:
                   Remove BIOS chip from M/B.
                   Remove the extra solder and clean the flux from BIOS pins.

                   Put BIOS chip on programmer.
                   Set the BIOS brand and type for programmer.
                   Read BIOS data to programmer buffer.

                   Save the data from programmer buffer.
