Emphasize these concepts:

• Not touching position – instruments sitting on floor
• Ready position – S holding instruments in hands, arms up
• Rest position – holding instruments down on lap

• If S play the rhythm sticks out of turn T takes them away
• Have the S hold them up in one hand like the “Statue of Liberty” while singing a
song as they pass them in. This keeps hands and mouths busy!
• If you are not ready to use rhythm sticks, S can use finger sticks
