SAFETY AND HEALTH PROTECTION
A. SAFETY
Employees are personally responsible for complying with all safety and health
standards, rules, and orders applicable to their respective activities on the job. The
following guidelines apply to Molzen Corbin and all employees:
1. All accidents, no matter how slight they appear, must be reported immediately
to the involved employees’ respective Supervisor on the job, Department
Leader, and to the Human Resources Department. Among other reasons,
immediate reporting is critical in the event that secondary effects appear later
and is required, for accurate reporting to our insurance company, and for filing
for Workers’ Compensation. Job related injuries of a serious nature that require
hospitalization or consultation with a medical professional may be covered by
Workers’ Compensation Insurance carried by Molzen Corbin.
2. In order to comply with the laws governing Workers’ Compensation,
employees injured on the job must complete a form describing the nature of the
injury, time of the injury, etc.
3. It is the responsibility of every Supervisor to ensure that accident reports and
reviews are conducted to prevent future accidents.
4. All Supervisors are required to guard against the use of unsafe equipment and
unsafe work methods in their departments, especially in the field, and require
development and observance of safety habits.
5. Employees have a duty to report immediately to their Supervisors any
indication that the environment is not being maintained in a safe and healthful
fashion. Suggestions for improvement of working conditions and the
elimination of hazards are always welcome.
6. Any staff member who visits, or is assigned to, a project site must wear
appropriate safety equipment.
7. Employees who work with x-acto knives should always use the triangular
gaskets and/or covers that keep the knives from rolling and causing injury.
