H. HOLIDAYS
Molzen Corbin observes seven (7) legal holidays during the year when the offices
are closed and all employees have the day off. These holidays are as follows:
New Year’s Day Thanksgiving Day
Memorial Day Friday after Thanksgiving
Independence Day Christmas Day
Labor Day
Additionally, in years in which Christmas falls between Tuesday and Friday, the
office will close at 12:00 noon on Christmas Eve.
Generally, those holidays falling on a Sunday are observed the following Monday
and those falling on Saturday are observed the preceding Friday. In all cases,
however, the day determined as the legal National Holiday will be observed.
In some instances, the office workload may require employees to work on a holiday.
Employees are required to obtain prior approval for such holiday work and expected
to take a day off in lieu of the paid holiday sometime within the same pay week. On
occasions where employees are required to work on a holiday but cannot be granted
time off in the same pay week, the employees’ vacation leave account may be
credited with additional and equal hours of vacation leave time; if applicable, such
credit may be granted only with the approval of the Supervisor.
Temporary and part-time personnel are not entitled to paid holidays.
I. MISCELLANEOUS TIME OFF
Molzen Corbin understands that certain absences from work are unavoidable and
attempts to make allowances for such leaves to the extent possible. Time off for
reasons other than those addressed by these policies will be handled individually.
Advance notice of all absences should be given whenever possible.
1. Extended Leaves
(a) Jury Duty. Jury duty is an obligation and a privilege of citizenship,
and we encourage our staff members to serve when asked to do so.
During this time of service, you will be paid your regular wages and
are expected to submit your jury pay to Molzen Corbin. When jury
duty does not demand your services for a full day, you should return
to your job.
