Part-time and temporary employees do not accrue vacation leave.
Upon termination of employment, the amount of vacation leave accrued and unused
up to the date of termination will be paid to the employee.
B. SICK LEAVE
In the interest of employee physical well-being and the Company’s productivity,
Molzen Corbin has instituted a liberal sick leave policy. Employees are urged to stay
at home when too ill to work effectively, and to maintain a regular schedule of
preventive health care. Employees must notify their respective Department Leader
or Supervisor each day of absence subject to sick leave.
Full-time, regular employees will have a sick leave bank established, to which will
be credited paid sick leave at the rate of 3.08 hours per pay period from the date of
employment. Sick leave may be credited to an employee’s account until a maximum
of 240 hours of credited time is reached. Employees may use this time only for their
personal or immediate family’s illness or medical, dental, optical, and related health
care. “Immediate family” is defined as a spouse, parent, or child residing in an
employee’s household. A doctor’s statement may be required for absences more than
three consecutive days or where an employee has developed a pattern of using sick
leave. Employees who have suffered illness or injury requiring more than three
consecutive days of absence may be required by Molzen Corbin to provide
certification from a medical professional that they are fit to return to work, or Molzen
Corbin may require, at its expense, such an employee to submit to a fitness-for-duty
examination before returning to work if it appears the health condition may impair
the employee’s ability to perform the essential functions of the job or pose a threat
to the workplace.
Temporary and part-time employees are not entitled to paid sick leave.
Upon termination of employment, payment will not be made for unused sick leave.
C. NO AVAILABLE SICK LEAVE
If an employee is absent from work due to illness but has no sick leave accrued, the
employee’s accrued vacation leave time will automatically be used until it is
exhausted. In cases where both sick leave and vacation leave have been exhausted,
any additional allowable absence will be leave without pay. Molzen Corbin will
consider such absences in accord with applicable law.
