D. BEREAVEMENT LEAVE
All full-time employees will be eligible for bereavement leave in the event of the
death of a family member (parent, sibling, spouse, child, grandparent, in-law or
anyone living in the employee’s household). The maximum benefit will be three (3)
days of compensated leave in a 12-month period in the event of the death of a parent,
sibling, spouse or child, and two (2) days of compensated leave in a 12-month period
in the event of the death of a grandparent, in-law or anyone living in the employee’s
household. A maximum of three days of paid bereavement leave will be allowed in
a 12-month period.
Bereavement leave must be requested on a Bereavement Leave form and approved
by the employee’s Department Leader. The Bereavement Leave form can be
obtained from the Human Resources Department or printed from the Company
Intranet.
Temporary and part-time employees are not entitled to paid bereavement leave.
E. MILITARY LEAVE
1. Injured Service Member Leave. A qualifying employee who has sustained a
serious injury or illness or has a qualifying family member who has sustained
a serious injury or illness during military service may be entitled to additional
leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). In addition, a
qualifying employee may be entitled to FMLA leave for certain activities
related to that individual or their qualifying family member’s assignment to
active duty. Please contact the Human Resources Department to determine
eligibility for Military Leave under the FMLA.
2. Military Obligations. Any individuals who require military leave will be
granted time off without pay to satisfy his or her military reserve obligations.
Individuals who elect to take military leave coincidental with their vacation
leave will receive full vacation leave pay until such leave is exhausted. Any
individual that believes he or she will be subject to military leave at any time
during their employment should contact the Human Resources Department
to discuss additional policies related to their leave and reemployment.
F. DISABILITY LEAVE
In the event of a disability, full-time regular employees will receive normal pay from
the time of the disability until all accrued sick leave and vacation leave time have
been exhausted.
