8. To prevent eyestrain, we recommend that you look away from the computer
and focus on a distant object from time to time.
9. In order to prevent repetitive motion strain, employees who work with
computers should keep their wrists elevated but level, avoid twisting their
wrists when using the mouse, and practice good posture.
10. Employees should not attempt to repair office equipment themselves beyond
standard everyday maintenance. Instead, report any malfunctioning equipment
to the Office Aide Leader or the Chief Administrative Officer.
11. When lifting heavy objects, bend at the knees to avoid back injuries or ask for
assistance.
B. SMOKING
As part of our commitment to a health care philosophy dedicated to the promotion
of health and the prevention of disease, smoking is prohibited in the office or on the
grounds, except in designated areas. Currently, smoking is permitted outside on the
east end of the property, and receptacles are provided for extinguishing your
cigarettes. Smoking is not permitted directly outside the building at the main
entrance since employees, clients, and other visitors must pass through this area when
entering or leaving the building. Smoking is not permitted in Company vehicles.
C. DRUG- AND ALCOHOL-FREE WORKPLACE
Employees under the influence of drugs or alcohol pose serious risks to their own
safety and to the safety of other employees. Substance abuse can also jeopardize
Molzen Corbin’s customers, equipment, products and efficiency. To minimize the
risks that substance use poses, Molzen Corbin maintains a Drug- and Alcohol-Free
Workplace, which applies to all Molzen Corbin’s employees and to the employees
of any outside contractor performing services for Molzen Corbin, including the
employees of any temporary agency.
Violations of this policy may result in disciplinary action, up to and including
possible termination. Violations of this policy may also implicate legal
consequences.
