peripheral may be checked out from the Receptionist for business use away from the
office for a specified period of time with the approval by an Officer of the Company.
Networked PCs and user accounts require password protection as a standard security
measure. Passwords shall not be shared. When users leave their offices for periods
of more than one hour, they are required to logout from the network.
Users are required to cooperate with all virus-prevention methods used by the
Company. Users are prohibited from interfering with any virus-prevention software
installed on Molzen Corbin hardware.
Password Policy. Employees shall use ONLY their own usernames and passwords
to log on and off IT resources. Employees shall never share any of their user ID’s,
passwords, or any other protected information with any other person, or in any
manner that may compromise the security and integrity of Molzen Corbin.
Passwords shall be kept confidential.
It is the responsibility of the employee who creates his or her own passwords to make
sure they are not commonly used or insecure. Molzen Corbin reserves the right to
change insecure passwords at any time without notice to the employee.
B. COMPUTER SOFTWARE
Employees are not authorized to download software that is not purchased by Molzen
Corbin. This includes, but is not limited to, games, screen savers, fonts, etc.
Modifications to platform configuration shall be limited to standard options installed
on the PC by Computer Services personnel at the time of installation.
The Computer Services Department ensures that all software licensed to Molzen
Corbin is properly registered and installed in accordance with software licenses. All
original software purchased by Molzen Corbin will reside in the Computer Services
library.
All software provided (installed or customized) by Molzen Corbin shall not be copied
by users for any purpose. Any unauthorized duplication of licensed software is a
violation of United States copyright laws. Illegal duplication constitutes copyright
infringement and is punishable by significant criminal penalties, including
substantial jail time and fines. Heavy civil penalties are also possible. Any employee
found copying software licensed to Molzen Corbin is subject to disciplinary action.
Likewise, any employee giving software licensed to Molzen Corbin to any outside
third party, including clients or suppliers, is subject to disciplinary action.
