CALL FOR STUDENT PAPERS

On behalf of the National Executive Committee of Eta Sigma Gamma, I invite students to submit
research papers for publication consideration in the upcoming issue of the student issue of The Health
Education Monograph Series!
One of the privileges commensurate with being a member of ESG is the opportunity to submit your paper
for publication consideration. The blinded-peer review process is a rigorous one, and health education
professionals with peer-reviewed publications stand heads and shoulders above others! Eta Sigma
Gamma provides this opportunity for our members, and it is restricted only to those who meet the ideals
and standards required to be a member of this prestigious honorary!
Who can submit?
Manuscripts will be accepted from students who are members of Eta Sigma Gamma, or will be a member
of a chapter by the end of the academic year (2017/2018). Your faculty advisors must confirm your
membership standing/eligibility as part of the submission process.
What can I submit?
We will accept for consideration, manuscripts of a wide range of topics, providing they are related to the
mission and goals of our organization. Indeed, students should consider revising and submitting
appropriate papers they have written during their professional preparation and training. It is likely that
you have already prepared – or are currently preparing – a paper for a class that would be appropriate
for submission. Only original manuscripts not been accepted or published previously will be considered.

When do I submit & When will it be published?
Submissions are usually due by January 31, 2018 for priority consideration. However we have extended the
deadline to February 15, 2018. Several institutions were adversely impacted by major natural disasters near
the start of the fall academic year. This two week extension allows for all ESG chapters to participate. The
Student Issue is usually published on-line toward the end of summer each year.
