Cardiff City Ladies are starting to pick up momentum with a second win in three
matches, beating London Bees 4-1. Ellie Sargent netted two of the goals for the South Wales
side and she was joined on the scoresheet by Olivia Thompson and Katie Jones, whilst Florence
Gamby grabbed a consolation for the Bees.
Division One North
It has been a good start to September for Leeds Utd, who followed up a 5-0 victory over
Barnsley on Thursday night by beating Liverpool Feds 1-0, and this has taken them two
points clear at the top of the table. Abbie Brown scored the only goal of the game with three
minutes remaining, the first time that the previously unbeaten Feds have conceded this season.
Previous leaders Newcastle Utd are in second place after sharing a 1-1 draw with
Chorley. Rachel Hindle gave Chorley the lead early in the second half, before Rachel Lee
earned Newcastle a share of the spoils when she equalised from the penalty spot.
FC United of Manchester meanwhile registered a third victory on the trot and this
has lifted them up to fourth place. Captain Kirsty Chambers spearheaded the result with a
five-goal blast as her side defeated Alnwick Town 6-2, Chloe Wild adding their other goal
whilst Alnwick's replies came from Kirstie Tang and Lucy McConnell.
Chester-le-Street Town and Stockport County meanwhile settled for a point
apiece after sharing four goals. Nichole Havery gave the Cestrians a first half lead, with
Stockport fighting back to go in front with goals either side of half time from Olivia Dixon and
Maria Figueiredo, but it was Havery who was to have the final say and she netted her second
goal to equalise with nine minutes remaining.
Barnsley bounced back from their defeat a few days earlier to record their first point
of the season, coming from behind to draw 1-1 with Bradford City. Katy Woodcock put
Bradford in front just ahead of the half hour mark, before Courteney Csomor levelled for
Barnsley early in the second half.
Division One Midlands
Tanya Dickinson and Stephanie Weston scored first half goals for leaders Boldmere St
Michaels as they won 2-1 away to Leek Town, whose consolation came from Naomi Sale-
Hancock.
Boldmere keep their one point lead over second placed Lincoln City who also
notched up a 2-1 victory, against Burton Albion. Amy Blinkhorn and Leah Hardy scored the
goals to hand Lincoln a third straight win, despite Ella Ritchie replying for the Brewers.
The result takes Lincoln above Long Eaton Utd who were held to a 2-2 draw by
Peterborough Utd. Kier Perkins and Stacey McConville were on target for the Posh Ladies,
whilst Long Eaton netted through Moriah McIntosh and Cala Thornton.
Doncaster Rovers Belles bounced back from defeat seven days earlier to win 3-2
at Bedworth Utd and move back up to fourth place. Jasmine Saxton, Jess Price and Nadia
Khan all scored a goal apiece for the Belles, with Lydia Hackney and Jodi Hunter netting
Bedworth's goals.
Solihull Moors and Sporting Khalsa meanwhile shared the points in an eight-
goal thriller. Lauren Walker and Megan Cann put Khalsa two up inside the opening fifteen
minutes, but Solihull came roaring back and went two goals ahead themselves, thanks to a
Jessica Lundie brace, Kathryn Pagan and Sigourney Gowlett. Khalsa were not finished though
and a double from Chloe Handy salvaged a draw and earned them their first point of the season.
Kayleigh Aylmer earned Holwell Sports a share of the points as they finished level
at 1-1 against sixth placed Leafield Athletic, who scored through Holly Briggs.
Division One South East
Billericay Town remain as leaders on goal difference after they defeated Stevenage
Women 7-1. Zoe Rushen netted two of the goals and she was joined on the scoresheet by Logan
O'Shea, Mia Lockett, Shannan Drewe, Jay Blackie and Freya Fuller, with Louise Godden
replying.
