LL: How have you faired during the pandemic?
PT: Well, as we all know, COVID-19 had a huge impact on entertainment and the music industry.
Almost all the places’ musicians perform in the Northeast were closed down for over a year, and
many went out of business. I decided to
work on the new recording last
summer and we rehearsed outside,
taping segments, and posting them so
we could stay in touch with fans. We
started the recording in December and
had safety precautions in place. I was a
great way to spend the holiday season
and then following up with editing
and mixing really helped us get
through the winter. In the spring and
summer of this year we’ve been
playing at outdoor venues with
fantastic audience reactions. We have
also been played on streaming
services and radio stations around the
world, so our fan base is expanding.
Now that the cold weather is arriving
again, we are currently playing it safe
and have not booked indoor venues.
Last winter, when we called booking agents for playing this year, they were backlogged with all of
the acts they had already booked when COVID hit, so we will be looking to have better luck this
winter. Here’s a shout out to the booking agents! It will probably take more time for the variants
and breakthrough cases to subside, so I have renewed my focus on songwriting.
LL: What can we look forward to coming up for you?
PT: I have been writing new songs and it looks promising to go back to the studio this winter for
more recording. If we’re not playing out, it’s the best way to have a sense of purpose and have a
great outlook during the short, darker days. Instead of having the winter blues, why not write a
song about it?
