True empathy, is relational multitasking at its
              best. Just as our bodies are designed to
              multitask; they do it all of the time, without any
              prompting at all from our mind; our lungs are
              breathing, our heart is beating, and every cell in
              our body is continually reproducing and
              functioning in exactly the way that it is designed
              to. This is the natural way of living, this is the
              natural way of being, our body is an active
              participant in life.

              So too, when we live through empathy, our
              mind and our emotions collaborate and
              multitask at their best. We are receiving, we are
              reflecting, we are respectfully responsive, and
              we take considered action. This is the natural
              way of living; this is the natural way of being.
              We are an active participant in life.
              Empathy enables us to be fully present to our
              real here and now experience, and through the
              immediacy of this experience empathy grants us
              the opportunity for a connection that can heal
              across time.

              Within our present experience empathy
              enables us to listen to our history whilst
              actively considering our future.
