THE POWER OF TAKING THE PLUNGE

through our own filter or according to certain
expectations. We do this automatically, or
               without really thinking about it.

For example, let’s say five or six of us were
discussing real estate investing during dinner.
The deeper a few of us got into the
conversation, the more you checked-out and
disengaged. Why did you check-out? It’s
because you’re not an investor, so you mentally
               dismissed yourself from the conversation.

Not only do you not invest in real estate, but
also you’ve never owned a home in your life. In
fact, your parents never owned a home either.

alignment), you might choose to lean away. It
probably wasn’t even a conscious decision. You
see, the left side of our brain (the part that’s
linear and rational) is constantly taking
               information from our experiences and
connecting this information to our current
reality in order to project probable outcomes.
So, if the entire table is talking about investing
and you don’t believe that’s something
attainable for you, it’s likely the left side of your
brain made the probable assumption that you’ll
