Why a Housing & Community Centre?
Statistics indicate that a minimum of 600 spaces are required to house the homeless
across Monmouthshire per year but currently the housing stock available via all
routes is only around 450.
The most affected people groups are:
Young people, moving out of the care system and who want to make an
independent start to life
People with certain medical and addiction challenges, especially those who come
out of rehabilitation, and once again want to get their lives back to normal, make
something of themselves and eventually give back to the community as responsible
citizens.
Vulnerable adults who cannot help themselves and have somehow fallen through
the system
More Than A Place To Sleep
Through this project, Gateway will help bridge the gap in the current welfare
