Holes #7 & #8

The 7th and 8th holes both play adjacent to an existing pond, but the pond is not a strategic or
aesthetic element to either hole. It is an opportunity lost.

Artistically, expanding this pond will create a dynamic strategic hazard for the 8th hole and an aes-
thetic amenity for the 7th hole. It will visually meld this peninsula of ground together creating a
more exciting and memorable golf experience. More practically, expanding and deepening the
pond will provide the fill material required to hold back the flood waters to keep these holes open
for play despite periodic high tides and nor’easters.

The periphery of these proposed improvements can be augmented with valuable living shoreline
material to provide a preferred environmentally sensitive interface between golf and the surround-
          ing marshland.

This potential scope of work is extensive for these two areas, as is the problem being addressed.

Enlarging and deepening the existing pond will improve the golf holes while providing the needed fill soil.
