POTENTIAL BUNKER IMPROVEMENTS

The bunkering at Eagle’s Landing Golf Course has been modestly improved from time to time in-
house. This work included re-draining and re-sanding the sand bunkers. It is now time for a signif-
icant bunker renovation to be considered.
Despite the bunkers relatively net smaller footprint, successful golf course bunkering impacts the
golf experience unlike nearly any other feature. Bunkers can transform the round’s playability (and
in turn the staff’s maintainability), strategy, aesthetics, and character/identity of the entire property.

Fortunately, recent advancements in pervious base liners, such as Better Billy Bunker, dramatically
improve the bunkers’ performance, increase the longevity of bunkers, and allow for improved de-
sign flexibility through increased sand-flashing ability (improving the visibility of Eagle’s Landing’s
bunkering will greatly improve the visual contrast and framing of the golf elements across your rela-
tively flat terrain). All of these bunker issues and opportunities can be properly addressed within a
comprehensive golf course master planning document.

                                                                Hole #3: Sand washout

Despite the Tyvek suit, the Better Billy Bunker polymer application is non-hazardous. The liner ap-
plied can eliminate soil contamination and wash-outs on steeply flashed bunker faces. Bunker lin-
ers add $2.50/square foot to the overall construction cost, but a labor payback is soon realized.

Hole #3: Re-contoured bunker surrounds Woodmont Country Club
will redirect surface drainage and maximize
         visual definition from the tee

The Eagle’s Landing bunker surrounds need to be re-sculpted to allow for new bunker liners to
maximize their benefit. Introducing a sand-flashed hazard like McDonald’s recent improvements at
Woodmont Country Club’s will solidify “The Beast of the East’s” place within the local market.
