○ Do not unfasten or take off your
helmet when you are riding
○ If you see a crack in your helmet or the
strap is loose, broken or won’t stay
fastened, tell the responsible adult
caring for you right away
○ Wear shoes that will protect your
feet, like tennis shoes, and make sure
your shoelaces are tied and are not too
long so they don’t get caught in the
bike
○ You should only sit on the seat when
riding a bike, never sit on the
handlebars or any part of the bike that
is not meant for sitting on, you could
fall and get hurt
Water Safety
• It can be very hot in Arizona, and swimming
and playing in the water can be a great way to
cool down and get some physical activity, but
it is SO important to follow water safety rules
so water accidents don’t happen
• Your parents/guardians may have you wear a
life jacket; leave it on and fastened until the
responsible adult caring for you says it is safe
to take it off and helps you remove it
• NO running around water
• Only swim or play in or around water if
your parent/guardian gives you permission
and the responsible adult caring for you is
with you, is within arm’s reach of you, and is
watching you closely at all times
• NEVER go near a pool, lake, or any water area
without your parents/guardians permission
and close supervision by the responsible
adult caring for you
• If a toy or ball falls in the water, NEVER try to
get it out yourself. Leave it there and ask the
adult with you to get it out for you.
• The Arizona sun can make pool decks, patios,
sidewalks and streets very hot and if you walk
barefooted on them, you can burn your feet.
Always protect your feet by wearing shoes
when walking outside on hot surfaces.
• Remember sun safety
○ Wear sunscreen (the responsible adult
caring for you should apply and reapply it
for you)
○ Wear a full brim hat to protect your head,
ears and face
○ Wear sunglasses to protect your eyes
○ Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated
