What’s Different?
Apart from what the client has put in place, there are things that will
help keep you and the client’s staff safe. Wash your hands regularly
and don’t touch your face. Our personal protective equipment differs
by customer, we’ll advise you about these changes but as a minimum,
wear your uniform provided, wash it on a hot wash every day. If this
means asking for more uniform, let us know immediately. Wear
disposable gloves and wear a different pair between ‘blue’ general
areas and ‘red’ toilets. If on a medical site, new gloves if you’re using
‘green’ and ‘yellow’ clean areas.
We don’t now use cloths. Instead we use paper roll and dispose of the
role between each task. This means after every desk or work surface,
bin the paper. Take a double bin bag with you for this. We may, in
some cases be asked to store the bag for 72 hours before putting the
bag in to general waste. We’ll advise you of these arrangements if
they’re in place.
The chemical has changed from anti-bacterial to anti-viral. You’ll find
Selgiene Ultra and Extreme on site in spray bottles. They are, in effect
the same except one has an odour, the other doesn’t. Both need to
have a 5 minute dwell time on every surface you’re cleaning.
We have to clean the surface of dust first with a damp paper towel
then spray Selgiene onto a new towel and wipe the dried surface.
Leave the surface damp for 5 minutes before buffing off (if required) to
remove marks etc. On touch points, taps, handles etc. You’ll just need
to spray the Selgiene directly on to the paper roll and apply. Leave
damp.
Please don’t share equipment and after each use disinfect with
Selgiene. This includes vacuum handles, plug, metal handle, mop
shank and bucket handles etc.
