THE ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA BRAND WORKSHOP
REPORT FROM THE SERC
Article by: Veronica Belser
A brand is a concept, an ideal that people hold in their minds and in their hearts when they think about a
product, individual, or organization. For Alpha Kappa Alpha, at its core, the brand is a promise of what
the Sorority represents and what it means to those for whom we serve.
During the Regional Conference, the workshop "Alpha Kappa Alpha Brand" introduced sorors to the
newly developed Alpha Kappa Alpha Brand Guidelines. Sorors learned how to appropriately use the
key elements of the Alpha Kappa Alpha brand in internal and external communication (i.e. logos,
colors, etc.)
The “AKA Brand Guidelines” can be found on the international website under the members only
section, then click on RESOURCES and go to tab 4, Fall Mailing. Below are a few notable facts that all
sorors need to know:
Logo Don'ts:
Used by vendors without the written permission by the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority,
Inc. Corporate Office
Be rearranged, redrawn, or elements of the logo rescaled
Usage of the Coat of Arms and Administrative Seals
TIP: When using the Alpha Kappa Alpha coat of arms and administration logo, always place coat of
arms to the left and administration logo to the right.
