THE EGO Ivy Informer

Program Focus

As we begin our third month of “Launching New Dimensions of Service” in AKA, we have much to be thankful
for. Our chapter was blessed to be honored with two awards at our 2015, 83rd South Eastern Regional Conference.
EGO won the Overall Chapter Pre-Launch Achievement Award and the Walker Rigsby Collaboration Award.

Hats off to our Vice Chairman, Lead, committee members, and awards committee for working diligently over the
past year in helping to make this a reality. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated International programs
are on the move in Epsilon Gamma Omega Chapter. As we launch new dimensions of service in the Huntsville
metro area, our goal is to be more visible, to be actively involved in seeking ways to make a difference in the
wonderful community we serve.

As Anti-Basileus, I want to personally thank the chapter for the opportunity to attend the 83rd Regional Conference
as a delegate. I was able to reconnect with sorors across the region, learn new ways to promote our program
targets, as well as gain helpful information on the new Alpha Kappa Alpha Brand guidelines. Our new Supreme
Basileus, Soror Dorothy Buckhanan Wilson and her team have much in store for all chapters over the next four
years.

Finally, I want to share ways Sorors can support our new Target I THINK HBCU program:

 Think HBCU is Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority’s National Campaign to support
Historically Black Colleges & Universities. In support of HBCUs and EGO, please
consider going on the national website and contributing to the ’08 Campaign to raise funds
for currently enrolled HBCU students. (Chapters will receive credit for each Soror who
donates to this worthy cause.)

 Update your Chapter profile by identifying the colleges you have attended, specifically if
it was an HBCU. (Chapters will receive credit for each Soror who enters this information.)

 Join your local alumni association (Chapters will receive credit for each Soror who joins.)
 Work with Target I in securing a scholarship fund for HBCU student (s). Use your grant

writing skills, corporate sponsorship connections in supporting this effort for our chapter.

Programming is the heart of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. My goal as Anti-Basileus/Program
Chairman is to empower each member to move the sorority’s program agenda forward in the best possible manner.
Thank you in advance for your support as we walk this journey of promoting programs in our local community
and beyond.

Sisterly,
Soror Cheryl R. Davis
EGO Anti-Basileus/Program Chairman
