Growing Apprenticeships in
Greater Manchester
The Apprenticeship Hub- #SeeDifferent
Now in it’s fifth year, The Greater Manchester Apprenticeship Hub brings together partners from across
the city region, working together to increase the scale, breadth and quality of Apprenticeships in Greater
Manchester.
We’ve worked hard to raise the profile of Apprenticeships as well as working closely with GMCA to
coordinate the promotion of Apprenticeships across Greater Manchester including:
Keeping The Apprenticeship Hub website up to date with important and relevant Apprenticeship
information locally and nationally.
Maintaining an active and engaging social media presence including Twitter, Facebook,
Instagram and LinkedIn.
Developing a number of video case studies focused on underrepresented groups - BAME
apprentices and “older” apprentices
Collaborating with GMCA to support and coordinate Greater Manchester’s first ever Virtual
Apprenticeship Week. The week saw 16 events with input from 32 apprentices, 23 employers and
9 Training Providers! We were also involved in supporting the facilitation of GMCA’s Workplace
Opportunity Week.
Working with GM Apprenticeship Ambassadors to help share their story across GM including,
developing blogs and vlogs.
The Apprenticeship Support and Knowledge for schools (ASK) Programme
Now in its fifth year, the ASK Programme
promotes the apprenticeship route to
young people in schools and colleges as
well as NEET young people.
Through the programme we raise
awareness amongst parents, teachers
and advisors because of their role as key
influencers of young people. In addition,
we provide practical support sessions to
help young people navigate the
recruitment process.
