Briefly talk about your experience and area of work.
have over 18 years of postgraduate experience as a lawyer. Out of the 18 years, 8 years
have been with John Deere sub-Sahara Africa. My experience is a unique mix of both
Iworking for Government and Corporate. I have under my tutelage, a dedicated team of
legal practitioners who render legal services of a diverse, complex and multi-jurisdiction
nature ranging from regulatory, employment, contracts drafting/vetting to litigation,
amongst others. We depend on our diverse knowledge, experiences and skills to support
the implementation and execution of the Deere and Global Law Services Group Strategy

across approximately 50 countries in sub-Sahara Africa.

impact of those changes on John Deere?
Our part of the world is quite volatile due to several reasons. With this volatility
environment, there are opportunities which needs agility to navigate through in order to

What actions/solutions were taken/offered to mitigate potential risks?
We have identified 20 key markets countries and came up with a project plan to deeply
understand the local requirements in getting the necessary approvals and licenses. There
is a collaborative effort between the SSA team, ISG and dealers in clearly understanding
the dynamics and market needs. With regard to Data Privacy, we are making it a priority
and will be part of FY 2020 GPM goals. We will develop a regulatory landscape framework
with a view to address data privacy issues across SSA.
