impact of those changes on John Deere?

Our part of the world is quite volatile due to several reasons. With this volatility
environment, there are opportunities which needs agility to navigate through in order to
Technology is moving in a do business. Given this environment, there are regulatory challenges which makes it
very high pace and the laws almost impossible to overcome. Technology is moving in a very high pace and the laws in
in most countries are far most countries are far behind development. This has resulted in more delays in getting
behind development. Type Approvals for several licenses in operating Deere ISG products. Due to unavailability
of Deere ISG products in the markets, customers choose competition products or any

jurisdictions is becoming a hot topic. Most countries in SSA are following the GDPR
principle in developing their own local laws. Data collection and processing will surely
impact on our business. The impact will further need to be assessed and be made part of
                                        SSA Vital Few.

What actions/solutions were taken/offered to mitigate potential risks?
We have identified 20 key markets countries and came up with a project plan to deeply
understand the local requirements in getting the necessary approvals and licenses. There
is a collaborative effort between the SSA team, ISG and dealers in clearly understanding
the dynamics and market needs. With regard to Data Privacy, we are making it a priority
and will be part of FY 2020 GPM goals. We will develop a regulatory landscape framework
with a view to address data privacy issues across SSA.
