The Cobbled street
At the other end of the lively bridge, you have left the songs and dance, the sculptures and the artists,
the laughter and awe behind. For a moment, you turn back and secure the sight once more, all set for
a long walk up to your hotel. The evening has set in and you can see the hotel at the end of the street.
The cobbled street that is beautifully laid down since centuries before, calls out to your tired feet. The
walls narrow down and you see a strip of the sky zooming in and a raindrop falls on your forehead and
you smile; in this quiet place, you truly feel alive. The soul has left the madness behind to wander on a
tired street. It now breathes a new life on the cobbled street.
The Funicular Track
The immense popularity of the tower can be validated by the astounding number of visitors it receives
each year; over 557,000 visitors in 2014 alone, with 70% of the population being foreigners. The trek
uphill is quite breathtaking, and those brave enough to undertake it are welcomed by a 30 minute arduous
climb. Thankfully, those who value luxury over exhausted legs, can take comfort in knowing that they
can ride the spectacular Petřín funicular, which frequents all stops at regular, short intervals. The reason
behind the tower’s ability to perform as a tourist magnet lies in the fact that one can observe and indulge
in the life of the city’s historic streets from a brilliant vantage point, and build an itinerary of visiting the
places that call to their soul the most. Upon descending into the city, the streets of Prague are alive with
art and accents, dance and delight, people and places. Every moment is a burst of colour and culture.
