Page 7 - ENTERING INTO WHAT CHRIST HAS DONE
P. 7
In order to experience the power of Christ, you must act and put yourself in the position
of the people of the bible. Paul says be imitators of me. The bible gives us so many people to
imitate their faith. God specifically instructs that you should follow the faith of some people.
How did Abraham experience the power of God? How did Paul experience the power of God?
The stories of the bible are helpful for us to simulate the characters and the people that we have
in the bible so that by following their faith, we will be able to achieve what they themselves
achieved. For example, a minister can simulate the faith of Paul who was having his business as
well as doing the work of God and supporting the ministry that way. We can simulate their faith.
We can follow their example. We can copy them. We can invent like them. We can try to
resemble them. We shall resemble them by studying them and then, being able to duplicate or
reproduce what happened in their lives into ours. This is how faith works. Once you have an
example to follow, the bible commands that you should follow such examples of faith. And we
can get the results they got if we do it the way they did it. This is the act of modelling.
4. Sin no more – Rom. 6:23, 1Jn. 1:19, Prov. 28:13, James 4:7, 1Cor. 15:33, 1Thess. 4:3
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ
our Lord (Rom 6:23).
How do we experience the power of Christ who is the source of grace? How do you want
the grace of God to abound when you are living in sin? Sin and Christ are opposite. Sin will do
equal damage to your life, finances, marriage but more importantly, sin will debar the power of
God from flowing to you. To experience the power of Christ, you must constantly as much as
possible, recognize how to say no to certain things and to say yes to certain things. If you are a
yes person always, you will not be able to please God neither will you be able to please yourself.
The women who experienced the power of God were immediately instructed not to go and sin
any more. Once the power of God delivers you from something, you must maintain the
righteousness so that at the end of the day, you wouldn’t lose what you have again. Jesus Christ
came to deliver us from sin and the more we hate sin and run away, the more His power will be
helping us in all areas of life.
