for Quality Government in Israel petitioned the High
Court, challenging the voucher distribution criteria. The
petition referenced data and quoted from Shomrim’s
investigation. In response, the court suspended the
program’s implementation pending the petition’s hearing.
In September, after the state stated to the court that it
would consider transferring the program to the Ministry
of Welfare, the Supreme Court ruled that the program can
continue, subject to changes in the distribution criteria.
