Dear Colleagues and Staff,
I am delighted to announce that this week's Radiology Faculty of the Week
Award goes to……… Dr. Marty Auster. Dr. Auster is an Assistant Professor in
the Diagnostic Radiology Division at Bayview. He received his M.D. from
Drexel University, and then completed a radiology residency at Albert Einstein
College of Medicine Montefiore Medical Center. He then completed a
fellowship in cardiovascular interventional radiology here at Johns Hopkins
and joined the faculty. Dr. Auster is certified in diagnostic, vascular, and
interventional radiology. For the last several years at Bayview, he has focused
his clinical and teaching efforts on fluoroscopy and radiography.
Please see the nomination below from Dr. Ihab Kamel.
“I would like to nominate Marty Auster as Radiology Faculty of the Week. Marty does an incredible job
teaching plain film and fluoroscopy skills to all trainees rotating at the Bayview campus. He
passionately teaches medical students, physician assistants, and radiology residents basic skills that are
essential for their imaging career. Marty also provides exceptional services in support of our bariatric
surgery program, particularly in post-operative fluoroscopic imaging of these highly complicated cases.
Very few remaining radiologists are considered experts in fluoroscopy, and Marty is indeed one of
them. His dedication to excellence in teaching and patient care is very clear and truly appreciated.
Thank you, Marty!”
