CHAIR’S LETTER
Building a Better Tomorrow Together
With March comes the promise of spring and a vision of fun
filled days ahead. March also brings a fantastic opportunity
to reflect on the lessons learned over the past year and use
our newfound knowledge to shape our future. The
mechanism to quantify the experiences of our team is the
Johns Hopkins Employee Engagement Survey. This tool
allows all who participate an opportunity to shape our goals
by identifying our strengths and weaknesses while also
providing a means to determine the degree of success or
failure our actions have had on the team. Let us not
squander our precious opportunities to improve, and instead enrich ourselves through
our combined efforts for a better tomorrow
During my first two months at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, I was afforded
the delightful opportunity to meet with many of you on an individual basis and many of
you while you were exercising you skills in your work area. While these opportunities to
see you all in action have been quite enlightening, I still would like to meet with
everyone individually. I want to know who you are as a person, how we can help you
achieve your personal and professional goals, and what you feel we can do to improve
our workflows and overall healthcare delivery. I would also like to share with you bit of
my thoughts, hopes, vision, and dreams for the Department. If you have not done so
already, please feel free to contact Kim McCotter to schedule an appointment to meet.
March 30th is National Doctor’s Day; a celebration that
honors the extraordinary work our physicians provide
to their patients, their communities and society as a
whole. Please take a moment to acknowledge the
incredible effort of our talented and dedicated
radiologists as they deliver quality care to our patients.
Thank you all for your continued commitment to our patients and each other.
The promise of medicine is not possible without you.
Sincerely,
