Dear Colleagues and Staff,

                                     I am delighted to announce that this week's Radiology Faculty of the Week
                                     Award goes to……… Dr. Ulrike Hamper. Dr. Hamper is a Professor of
                                     Radiology in the Diagnostic Imaging Division. She also holds appointments
                                     in the Departments of Pathology and Urology. Her clinical interests include

                                     image-guided interventional procedures and encompass the entire
                                     spectrum of sonographic studies. These include vascular, OB/GYN,
                                     abdominal, genitourinary, pediatric and musculoskeletal ultrasound, as
                                     well as imaging of the thyroid, neck and scrotum. Dr. Hamper earned her
                                     medical degree at Germany’s Thesis University of Bonn. She completed a
                                     pathology residency at the University of Cologne and a rotating

                                     medical/surgical internship at Bonn’s Malteser Hospital—both also in
        Germany. Dr. Hamper then completed a residency in diagnostic radiology and a fellowship in
        ultrasound, computed tomography, nuclear medicine and cardiovascular radiology here at Hopkins.
        She also holds a Master of Science in Business degree and an M.B.A. in medical services management,

        both from Johns Hopkins University.

        “I would like to nominate Dr. Ulrike Hamper as Radiology Faculty of the Week.  Ulrike promptly
        responded to the need to revamp the ultrasound service at the Bayview campus.  In the few weeks that
        she covered the ultrasound service there, she established new links with our referring physicians and
        have significantly improved workflow efficiency by streamlining imaging protocols and biopsy

        scheduling.  Ulrike is truly passionate about teaching radiology residents and ultrasound technologists.
        Through her decades of experience in ultrasound, Ulrike brings world-class ultrasound expertise to
        Bayview.  Her dedication to excellence in teaching, innovative research and outstanding patient care is
        very clear and truly appreciated. On behalf of the Bayview faculty, we are delighted to have her on our


        team and we look forward to working with her.”
