The Selfridge Air Show is scheduled for July 21 & 22, 2007. At the time of printing this Guide, the following

                                         groups were booked for this year’s show: TinSticks Extreme Aerial Demonstration Team,
                                         The Sky Soldiers– US Army sponsored Helicopter demonstration Team, US Army Golden
                                         Knights Parachute Demonstration Team, Brent Hunter Pitts Aircraft Aerial Demonstration,
                                         Fighter Jets MIG-17 and F-104 Starfighters. There will also be vintage War Birds such as
                                         the C-47 and B-25 on display, as well as an assortment of ground vehicles and other U.S.
                                         military aircraft.

                                                    Selfridge presents an air show every other year. Experiencing this by boat is fan-
                                         tastic. You can anchor in front of Mac Ray / Belle Maer Harbors for the best viewing area
                                         (see map page 4 if you’re unfamiliar with this spot on Anc hor Bay ).

                                                    Showtimes are listed on the website, however, things usually start around 10-
                                         11a.m. and go throughout the day. The highlights of the show (t he jet performances )
                                         usually start 2-3p.m. and are over around 4p.m. Visit www.selfridgeairshow.org for all
the details and for more specific show times. I was told the event date was set, however, 2 years ago it got changed at
the last minute from July to May!, and they were still hoping to get the Blue Angels….so check the website...

                       Did you ever notice that birds sitting always face into the wind? That is because         Page 17
                        they will come in for a landing facing into the wind and be all set for take-off still

                             into the wind (like an airplane). Also, facing into the wind helps to retain body
                            heat because facing the other way around will ruffle their feathers.
