Fun Island!

                                                                                    The first Harsens Island auto ferry was a barge pulled by a motor
                                                                                    boat. Also in the late 1920's, there was a passenger ferry from
                                                                                    the Clinton River to Harsens Island for 60 cents each way.

                                                                                    Today, 4 ferrys run in the summer and 2 in the winter.... one
                                                                                    being used to keep an open path cut through the ice. Service is
                                                                                    24 hours per day and they transfer roughly 300,000 vehicles per
                                                                                    year. Take a drive out on M29 to Clay Township with the kids
                                                                                    and experience something new in our own backyard.
