As you saw the water
in the photos on the
earlier pages of our
many Polar Bear and
Ice Plunges for char-
ity, there are several
divers present for the
safety of the swim-
mers. The group here
at right is the St. Clair
Marine Sheriff dive team. The team con-
sists of 12 divers and a group of 11 sur-
face support personnel for boat piloting,
communications, and technical support.
Macomb County’s dive team is publicly
funded, however, the St. Clair dive team
and support are a 100% volunteer group.
Just like a volunteer fire department, they
only receive pay when they get a call.

of their monthly practices.... this one was
