Indonesia Chamber of Commerce and Industry

With more than 17,500 islands spread across three time zones, Indonesia’s
geography inevitably presents transport and logistical challenges. Coupled with
rapid urbanization and development of the country, its logistics’ performance has
become vital to provide an efficient distribution and supply chain network.
Indonesia has the potential to spearhead the growth of its transport and logistics
industry to be able to deliver complex local and regional solutions with lower
cost and dwell time. The focus of the government on improving infrastructure
has included improving logistics and transportation infrastructure, with a goal
of achieving domestic and regional connectivity and integration. Indonesia will in
time become further integrated into global logistics network in the coming years.
This integration will help customers and service providers realize an integrated
and multimodal transportation solution. The government must also develop more
integrated and efficient transportation system through well-planned feasibility
studies to reduce logistics cost and put an end to price disparity across regions.
The national agenda of Indonesia Transport, Logistics and Maritime Week 2017 with
